Kicking stones is a musical play based in Jorge Gonzalez's, (founder of Los Prisioneros), songs and opinions. The show portrays the work and genius of this Chilean musician, combining fiction and verbatim quotes from interviews and songs.

Paramar, a scene that is not part of this show
A couple, crying tears of joy…
On stage, we can hear "PARAMAR" by Jorge González in the background… but it's actually not going to be heard. This scene is not part of the show, as the title clearly states.
SHE
We weren't supposed to cry.
HE
I never promised I wouldn't…
SHE
Well, but then we said we weren't going to suffer, that we were just going to love each other.
HE
I believe that in life, you suffer more than you love. Or you love, and you suffer at the same time, but you never just love.
SHE
Are we going to philosophize again?
HE
It's not necessary.
SHE
Once, I was able to…
HE
What?
SHE
Love and suffer at the same time. It lasted a few days, then a strange thing started happening… I wanted you to understand me, to kick my hearts, and for my hearts to… because I have two hearts… I told you about that, right? Maybe the audience doesn't know about it. The thing is, that feeling went down to the bottom of the sea, where there are animals that have many hearts…
HE
How so?
SHE
Just like that. And love and its tears went down to the deep sea, and in that place, you breathe like fish, in the deep. Lovers breathe differently, and they even stop crying… like fish - they never cry.
She cries.
HE
Of course, because it's full of water, and tears can't be seen at the bottom of the sea…
SHE
What a smart asshole!
HE
And you're crying again!
SHE
I feel sad because of what you said…
HE
You're such a cliché.
SHE
And what's wrong with being a cliché? I want to wrap myself in a gift wrap and give myself to the world, like a loving woman. Because loving is nice, and nothing else. I want to give myself to the world like a woman who wants no kids but would happily have many Jorge González to give to the whole world. Because it's not the same to have any child than having children named Jorge González - that always tell the truth, and love this world with anger. Like the anger I'm feeling for you now… but that goes away in the end. It goes away when I listen to the song I'm supposedly listening to…
HE
I know you like that bit when it says, "… Paramar, if you're stupid, you'll be happy" (1). Sing it to me…
SHE
No, I feel too embarrassed.
HE
Go on, sing it to me.
SHE
Truth is I can't.
HE
Why?
SHE
Because the directors don't want me to. They want us to sing only if the audience asks us to. They say people are used to singing it, and that if we sing… we stray away from politics. But- know what? I don't care what those assholes think, even if they wrote this text for me. I think it's inconsistent. What's this thing with "not mixing politics with love"? It's weird... What do you think? Now they say they are giving you the freedom to say whatever you want to say…
Long silence.
SHE
What happened?
HE
I exercised my freedom to be silent…
SHE
How poetic.
HE
And pathetic as well. But it doesn't matter. It'll pass, for you too.
SHE
What will?
HE
Love. And that's the saddest part. In these times, people don't feel love. They only listen to songs about love now, but they don't love each other anymore.
SHE
I love you.
HE
So do I.
HER
I am that girl… how is it that the song goes?
HE
"walking in the cold, I wonder
if a girl that doesn't know how to love
has born, who would want to invent
a new way to-love (Paramar)…" (2)
SHE
The truth is that nobody wants to sing Paramar anymore. The chorus decided not to sing it, the musicians don't want to play it, dancers don't want to dance to it. We're not going to sing it. Paramar is not going to be part of this show.
(This scene has been removed from the show, and a new way of staging it has to be found).
